We met for the first time on January 5th, 2015, when we both started our first day of work at ISN in Dallas, TX. For the days and years to follow, we became incredibly close friends. 2 years later, on a trip to New Orleans with friends, we found our spark and began to consider what our relationship would look like once back in Dallas. Although Allie wasn't sure if she was quite ready for a relationship, Henry spent the next few months painstakingly pursuing her and showing her, for the first time, what true love is. Allie and Henry became official in March 2017 and have never looked back.
Shortly after we started dating, we knew that we were each other's 'the one'. On one of our first trips as a couple, we decided to go to Glacier National Park, MT in June for Henry's birthday. We stopped in Whitefish on the way to Glacier, preparing for our 6 day camping trip in the park. This trip was the first time Allie had ever been camping, and it was absolutely breathtaking. We were enamored by the beauty of Montana and our trip was one of the most incredible experiences we have had together to date. After 5 days of roughing it through Glacier National Park, we made it back to Whitefish, MT. We spent the days walking the town, shopping, when we went into a flower shop preparing for a wedding. We had fallen in love with the town of Whitefish and the surrounding area, and something about witnessing the beauty of the wedding planning and florals sparked a feeling in us that we have not shaken. We knew this was the place where we wanted to get married, and have since dreamed of our special day being in Whitefish. We are so thrilled to experience the wedding day of our dreams surrounded by those we love most, and are so excited for you all to experience beautiful Whitefish.
After 3+ years in Dallas, we moved to New York City in July 2018. We spent the first 2 years in the West Village before moving to the Upper West Side in the summer of 2020. Enjoying our larger space, especially during quarantine, we spent every waking second together. It wasn't until late July that Henry decided to go to his family's house in Quogue for a week, while Allie settled into our new home in NYC. Our first week apart in months was both glorious and desolate. We missed each other, while enjoying our alone time and (for Henry) quality time with family. When Henry returned to the city on Friday, July 31st, it was the sweetest reunion. We were prepared to spend the night drinking wine, going out for dim sum, and enjoying each other's company. The night got better when we were alerted that our building super was going to unlock the door to the roof for maintenance. We've always loved sneaking onto rooftops ever since moving to New York, so the news of the door being unlocked could not have been better. Henry grabbed a bottle of champagne, and up we went to explore our new roof. As soon as we got to the roof and set down our items, Henry embraced Allie and went into the sweetest proposal. To say that Allie was surprised was an understatement. She immediately started bawling (shocker!) and collapsed to the floor in Henry's arms. We spent the next hour on the roof soaking it all in, and thinking about our life together while the sun set over New York City. It was a truly special night that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
