Crystal Mountain

Downtown Frankfort
Downtown Frankfort is about a 20 minute drive from Crystal Mountain, and is one of our favorite places to visit while we are up north. The downtown area is characterized by a variety of quaint shops, restaurants, and cafes, all housed in historic buildings. You can stroll through the streets and enjoy the beautiful views of the harbor and lake, as well as the colorful Victorian-style homes. During the summer months, the town comes alive with festivals, live music, and outdoor activities, making it a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.
Point Betsie Lighthouse
Point Betsie is another place that we always visit while we are up north. Point Betsie Lighthouse is located on the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline south of the Sleeping Bear Dunes and north of Frankfort, Michigan. The original 1858 lighthouse, keeper’s residence, fog signal building, and Boathouse Museum are still open to the public.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
A must see while in Northern Michigan. Miles of sand beach, bluffs that tower 450’ above Lake Michigan, lush forests, clear inland lakes, unique flora and fauna make up the natural world of Sleeping Bear Dunes. High dunes afford spectacular views across the lake. An island lighthouse, US Life-Saving Service stations, coastal villages, and picturesque farmsteads reflect the park’s rich maritime, agricultural, and recreational history.
