Charlie and Allison met through mutual friends during their junior year at Oklahoma State. While they hung out on multiple occasions, neither were ready to make the first move. Four years later, they reconnected at a wedding and spent the night catching up. After that night, they talked every day via text until Charlie asked Allison out on a date two months later. At the time, Charlie was in Stillwater finishing his Master's Degree, and Allison was working in Fort Worth. While they were both a little nervous and wanted to protect their friendship, they decided it was worth trying a long distance relationship. A year later, Charlie had the opportunity to move to Fort Worth for work. Since then, the pair have been exploring Fort Worth, enjoying walks on the Trinity Trails and trying new restaurants. On October 14th, 2023, Charlie suprised Allison with a day-long date, starting with the eclipse, of course! They went to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, one of their favorite places, and with the help of some friends, Charlie had some roses on a bench. Allison and Charlie sat on the bench together reflecting on their time together. Charlie said that he wanted to spend a life time adventuring together and proposed. They then spent the evening celebrating with close family and friends.
