Dear Friends and Relatives, Well, Corona has made the decision for us—we are postponing our wedding til Sunday, September 13, 2020. Here’s the good news—Nantucket is absolutely spectacular that time of year. Less crowds, more beauty and all shops and events that are open, will still be open. The wedding invitation you received from us still has all the relevant info. The only change is the date. Remember—it’s now Sunday, September 13, 2020. We can’t wait to see you and party the night away. Stay healthy!
Having never visited Nantucket before, Lauren accepted a job on the island two weeks after graduating college. Nick is a 7th generation local, born and raised on Nantucket. In 2014 he opened the surf shop - Nantucket Surf Club. Lauren had a rough transition to island life. On her day off, she saw a street sign that said "Easy Street". She decided to take a picture of the sign and stroll down. Lauren walked passed Nick's surf shop, but then noticed the shop logo in the corner of her eye. She decided to turn around and go into the shop. That’s where Lauren met Nick. She ended up coming back the next day to buy a sweatshirt for another "guy friend". Needless to say, Nick and Lauren still have the sweatshirt.
It seemed everyone thought Nick would propose to Lauren one special weekend. But she had NO idea. Nick rented a cabin in the woods for the December holidays. Lauren did not know where they were going, he just told her to pack warm. The log cabin was beautiful. It looked over a great field and was isolated. Just nature surrounded them. Layla, their Golden Retriever, ran around the property sniffing every corner. The next day, it snowed. Nick and Lauren had the perfect day and were relaxing by the fire. It was there that he got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him. Her first response: "Is this a joke? Are you pranking me?" Nick told her he was serious and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. And she said YES!
