For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
Question

What's the dress code for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Cocktail style. What does this mean exactly? We want you to feel both fancy and comfortable, and we want our wedding day to feel special and inviting. Please no jeans but no tailcoats either.

Question

Where's the Friday hangout?

Answer

We’ve moved our location for Friday night to accommodate the potential rain. We will gather at Gas Works Park at the Shelters near the playground: 2101 N Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103. You can Uber there easily and the 62 bus goes from Green Lake to Gas Works. If you are driving, there is some limited parking available. All the other details are the same: - We’ll be there starting at 5:30 pm, and dinner will be served at 6 pm. - We'll have delicious sandwiches from Paseo, PB&J for the kids, and drinks. - There will be blankets and tables to enjoy the beautiful water and skyline views. - There’s a playground for the kiddos. - Stop by whenever you'd like and meet the other people we love.

Question

Any tips for the traffic?

Answer

The main interstate (I-5) will be closed in the northbound direction between I-90 and NE 45th Street throughout the weekend (Friday–Sunday). This will affect travel into the Green Lake neighborhood from the airport and downtown Seattle. If you're traveling by car, plan for some extra travel time. We strongly recommend using the light rail when possible, as it will be much less affected by the closure. Once you're in the Green Lake area, the closure should have minimal impact on getting to the wedding events. Our venues are close together, and local travel around the neighborhood should remain straightforward. Need another reason to use the public transit system? Seattle's light rail ("Link Light Rail") and bus system ("Metro") now accept credit cards directly. Simply tap your credit card when you board. If you have any questions, transit staff and drivers are generally very helpful.

Question

How can we get to the ceremony and reception venue?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will be at the Great Hall at Green Lake in Seattle. The hall is a quick five minute walk from the beautiful Green Lake park. We encourage you to take public transit or a ride share to the venue. The Great Hall is close to the 45 bus line and a 13 minute walk from the Roosevelt Light Rail station. There is paid parking available at the PCC around the corner, and there is free parking available 12 minutes away at the Green Lake Park and Ride.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be indoors, but there will be chances to explore the beautiful Green Lake park during the reception.

Question

Is the ceremony and reception wheelchair and stroller accessible?

Answer

Yes! There is an elevator for folks who are unable to take the stairs.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are fortunate that we have many of the things we need for our home, and we appreciate that so many of you are coming from outside of Seattle. We would love it if you'd consider not providing a gift. Your presence is your present. However, if you’d like to provide a gift, thank you! We are registered at several retailers, and you can find our list under the "Registry" tab on our wedding website.

Question

Do you have any tips about getting to and around Seattle?

Answer

The closest airport is the Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEATAC). We highly encourage you to take the Light Rail from the airport, as it is the easiest and cheapest way to get to North Seattle. In general, we encourage you to not rent a car during the wedding weekend. Seattle has an incredible transit network made up of the light rail, buses, and even water taxis! It is super easy to get an Uber or Lyft, and all of our events are within a 5 mile distance of each other. Our public transit system is great! Seattle's light rail ("Link Light Rail") and bus system ("Metro") now accept credit cards directly. Simply tap your credit card when you board. If you have any questions, transit staff and drivers are generally very helpful.

Question

What are fun things you'd recommend that we do while we are in Seattle?

Answer

Seattle Aquarium Open 9:30 am to 6 pm daily; adult tickets start at $39 with discounted youth tickets and kids under 3 years old free. Woodlawn Park Zoo Open 9:30 am to 6 pm daily; adult tickets start at $27 with discounted youth tickets and kids under 3 years old free. Washington Park Arboretum Open dawn to 8pm daily; free of charge. Water Taxi Affordable water-based public transit options? Heck yes! You can visit West Seattle or a nearby island called Vashon. You’ll get stunning views of the city and some time on the water. Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum Open 10 am to 5 pm daily with extended hours to 7:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays; adult tickets start at $35 and kid tickets start at $30, kids under 4 years old free. Pike Place Market Open daily; free admission; maybe catch a fish? Ballard Brewery District A square mile of more than a dozen breweries including some of the best breweries you’ll find in Seattle (and we know beer!)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

- Absolutely! We love that we have so many close little ones in our lives, and we are thrilled to have them help celebrate our marriage. Please make sure you include your kiddos on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly. - We want to make it easy on our people who are parents to join the celebration. We’ve picked a venue close to a playground and green space and will have plenty of activities to keep the kiddos having fun during the day. We’ll also have a nursing room and quiet room in case people need it. - We also respect that you might want to come to the wedding without kids - and that’s fine too!

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 17th using our wedding website. Click "RSVP" on the top of the page. Once you enter your name, you will be prompted to provide information for your entire party (including any plus ones). If you have any issues, please contact us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please check your invite for your +1!

Question

Where should we stay if we are coming from out of town?

Answer

There are many lodging options available, but we encourage you to book accommodations ASAP. We have secured two hotel blocks. One is at the Residence Inn Seattle Northgate (Marriott), and reservations must be made by April 21. The other is at The Graduate (Hilton), and reservations must be made by May 5. Both reservation blocks are subject to availability, so please book soon. Click on "Travel" at the top of the page to find those links. There are other lodging options, including AirBnBs. If you'd like to stay close to the wedding venue, we recommend that you check out spots in Green Lake, Roosevelt, or Ravenna.
