Like all modern day romances, Alex and Scott met while swiping right on Bumble, a dating app. Bumble requires women to start the conversation first within a certain timeframe, and while Alex almost missed the connection, Scott used his "one time extension" giving Alex the courage to say hello. One three hour date and many chats about apple butter later, Alex decided to keep Scott around.

Scott surprised Alex with a well thought out proposal while vacationing with Scott's family in Jamaica. Given that this was Alex's first time visiting a Caribbean resort, she thought the rose petals and bottles of champagne were all a part of the package. Little did she know that after toasting to the family, Scott would get down on one knee at the cue of the live band. After a moment of shock, Alex said "But you told me it wasn't going to happen".
