"To have and to hold, from this DAVIS forward"

How did we begin? You may ask. Well, 9th grade high school began, and I, Shelby, was very smitten with John. I had more than half of my classes with him and as we kept getting paired up together either in Religion class or in Gym class, I realized a few things: John was the smart kid, the very athletic kid, he seemed to have a lot of friends, and the cool part, he was older than me and could drive. I knew there was something special about him. I took it upon myself to ask him to the Sadie's dance. Too afraid to face rejection, I slipped a note in his locker, asking him to the dance. He said yes! After that night, him and I began to talk more and more and became friends. That summer, after 9th grade ended, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We dated most of high school, until we realized we were taking separate paths for college- he moved away to MSU and I stayed home for school. We still stayed in touch with each other at least once a year. We got back in touch his senior year of college, and that's where the stars aligned. The timing was right and we started dating again, and haven't looked back. It was evident that we still had undeniable chemistry even after all the years spent apart. On August 22, 2020 we wed. Despite the circumstances around the world, we still wanted to do what we have wanted for so many years. We had a micro wedding, and now we can't wait to FINALLY have our much anticipated reception with all of our friends and family. Love should be celebrated!
