Best Man
I met Scott in the summer of 1998 and we became fast friends. We were roommates for the first 14 years of my life. Despite his propensity to huck shoes at me while I am snoring, he is one of the most caring people I have ever met. I am honored for Scott to be my best man.
Matron of Honor
Sarah and I actually met through John, who has been friends with her and Dom (Sarah's husband) since middle school. We hit it off right away and all four of us hang out at least once a week. Her thoughtfulness and sense of humor was something I noticed right away and knew she would be a forever friend! I am so thankful to have such a great friend like Sarah and my matron of honor.
Best Man
Benjamin John Ruiter grew up across the street from me. and you could argue he spent more time at my house than his own. He is smart. He is outspoken. He is loyal. I could not pick a better person to represent me to our community in marriage.
Bridesmaid
My first sister (in-law) Arielle and I met a couple years ago this March, but it feels like she has been here in our lives forever! Arielle's love for others is so apparent and I love her humor. She is not afraid to put my older brother Ryan in his place, that is when I knew she was the right one for him. Not to mention, her being an amazing mother to our little Meredith. :)
Groomsman
Not only is Dominic my business partner, he is also a great friend. I met Dom when I was 8 years old playing basketball for the Grand Rapids Grizzlies. He is a born entrepreneur and been a big part in my professional development. He and his wife (Sarah) have been great role models to Eliza and I as a couple.
Bridesmaid
Anna and I met freshman year of college and always hung out with the same groups. It wasn't until sophomore year when we were suitemates where I truly got to know her. Then our junior and senior year I was lucky enough to be housemates with her. Anna's quick wit can be quiet but deadly you just have to catch it. Anna is also getting married this summer and I get to be a bridesmaid for her too! I feel so blessed to be going through these stages of life together and we have been next to each other every step.
Groomsman
Phillip Hans Tubman is probably my oldest German friend. We met in the back of church many years ago. Of all the groomsmen, Phil is closest in age which meant we shared many similar stages of life together. He has been a steady rock and fountain of decent advice. I am very honored to share another stage of life with Phil.
Bridesmaid
Cate is the Sergeant's youngest, so we obviously bonded right away being the babies. :) We always got along and I have loved getting to know Cate over the years. She is so intelligent and going to do big things! I am so blessed to not only get along, but truly enjoy all the Sergeant family. I just wish Idaho was closer!
Groomsman
Like many good homeschooling families, Ethan and I met through older siblings. While being the youngest of my groomsmen, he might be the wisest. Ethan is always there for you, from handing you a beer on a fall night to waking you up way too early to go hunting the next morning. He always brings a sunny disposition. I am grateful for his presence on our wedding day.
Bridesmaid
My oldest friend, Sophie and I met when my mom had a daycare at our house. I was convince it was mine and I was taking care of the kids. We bonded over watching Berenstain Bears and then quickly found our love for Littlest Pet Shop. She will without a doubt make you smile when you are with her!
Groomsman
Gabriel Vincent Tubman is one of the most adventurous humans I know. No one is more down for a sporadic road trip. I met him through his older brother Phil and over the years have grown incredibly close to him. He has exposed me to many new things, from bowling leagues to private pilot lessons, no one will push you out of your comfort zone in a better way.
Bridesmaid
Clare and I met before our freshman year of high school through a mutual friend and I quickly realized she would be around for a while. Her joy will fill a room and we always pick up right where we left off. In high school, our favorite movie was Bohemian Rhapsody, the movie about Queen - we lost track of how many times we saw it in theaters.
Groomsman
Begrudgingly, Kody and I became friends in 2019 when I invited myself to Ben and his apartment. In the beginning, he was not thrilled to have an unpaying second roommate on the couch, but our mutual love of Family Guy and Game of Thrones opened the door to a beautiful friendship. Kody's sharp quips and silver tongue make him one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. I have deeply enjoyed his advice on and off the golf course.
Bridesmaid
My *almost* sister in law Rachel is such a bright light and has the most contagious laugh! When I got to spend a summer in Chicago for an internship, her and Kevin and I got to hang out all the time. We would go to baseball games and different festivals, but our favorite was trying new restaurants.
Usher
John and I are very excited to have Kevin be a part of our day. Our favorite thing is his humor and his thoughtfulness. The three of us could talk for hours on end about just anything. Our favorite memories were in Chicago visiting some of our favorite bars solving the world's problems. Kevin and Rachel are getting married just a few months after us and we are so happy to have both of them part of our special day! Cheers to many more Chicago visits as married people!

John and I are very excited that Ryan can be a part of our wedding day. Before John met Ryan, I talked him up and John was scared to meet him! Little did he know, Ryan and him would hit it off, we laugh about how intimidated John was at first. We admire Ryan's spontaneity, he is always up for a fun time. Our favorite memories were in DC when we got to go visit him and Arielle with our friend Ben. We can without a doubt have a fun time when we are all together.
