It all started from a facebook tag. Gretchen worked Sundays when she first landed in San Diego, CA. When she was able to catch her first Sunday Bills game at the local watering hole she dressed the part in a sequence jump suit. Much to her disappointment there was no game being broadcasted. She forgot to take into account eastern standard vs pacific time zones. The bartender looked at her and just shook his head buying her a beer. Gretchen decided to share the story on Facebook to encourage some laughs at her expense. A mutual friend, Emily Hawkins, tagged both Jonathan Jankowski and Gretchen Weidner in a post asking him to show her how to watch a proper Bills game in San Diego, CA. Jonathan had moved to the same city a few years previous and grew up in the town next to Gretchen in Hamburg, New York. Jonathan, being the social person that he is, invited Gretchen to join his group of friends from Hamburg to watch the next game at the San Diego Bills Bar, PB Ale House. Dozens of pitchers later and a victory against the Patriots, they were both headed to the next bar to celebrate! This is where they ran into Bills Hall of Famer, Andre Reed. Jonathan's excitement surpassed his self control as he kissed Gretchen right then and there at the bar! Years later, Jonathan asked Gretchen on a date after she was pink-slipped from her then teaching job. As he grabbed her hand after dinner she pulled away. Weeks went by where Jonathan would show up with flowers or gift cards hoping to win Gretchen's heart. Soon enough, she fell for him too. They flew to Costa Rica where Jonathan first said "I Love You" and then he flew her to Puerta Vallarta, MX and got down on one knee where she said "YES!"
