Things To Do

Long Dock Park

Long Dock Road, Beacon, NY 12508

We are really hoping to have our welcome party here! A beautiful park on the scenic Hudson River.

Dia Beacon

3 Beekman Street, Beacon, NY 12508

A massive contemporary art museum in a former factory space, known for its light-filled galleries and large-scale installations. Even if you’re not “an art person,” it’s a beautiful place to wander!

Beacon Coffee Co. & Mercantile

344 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508

A cozy Main Street staple for great coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and a slow, easy morning. Plus it’s right in the middle of everything in Beacon!

The White House Bar

1107 Main Street, Fishkill, NY 12524

A true old-school, cash-only dive with strong pours and zero pretension. Five minutes from the hotel and exactly where you go when you want something fun. We are thinking after-party…

Hudson Valley Brewery

7 East Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508

Minimal, cool space with excellent sour beers and good snacks. Feels like Brooklyn relocated upstate, but maybe the out-of-towners would enjoy it!

Downstate Newburgh

85 Liberty Street, Newburgh, NY 12550

Great coffee, Oaxacan style casual cuisine across the street the Historic Washington Headquarters!!!

The Roundhouse

2 East Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508

A stunning restaurant and hotel set beside a waterfall at the base of Mount Beacon. Go for dinner or drinks, if you’re lucky; book a room! The setting alone is worth it.

Bear Mountain

Bear Mountain, NY 10986

One of the places I (Cass) grew up going to. Some of my favorite Hudson Valley hikes with gorgeous sweeping river views at the top. A great half-day adventure if you want something scenic and active.

Beacon Reservoir

NY 12508

A peaceful wooded loop with wide trails and quiet water views. It’s perfect for a slow morning walk or an easy hike! It’s less intense than Mount Beacon and feels chill and local.

Bannerman Castle

Pollepel Island, Hudson River, near Beacon, NY, Beacon, NY 12508

Ruins on a tiny island in the Hudson. Feels romantic and slightly magical.
