We're getting married!

We had known of each other through mutual friends, the kind of almost connection where your paths circle but never quite meet. Then one night, in the middle of a packed music festival, surrounded by thousands of strangers and two completely different friend groups, we crossed paths. Out of all that noise and all those people, we found each other. We started talking right away, catching up like no time had passed. She had her hair styled like Princess Leia, and she looked radiant. The crowd felt massive, but the moment felt intimate, like it had been set aside just for us. Before the night ended, I asked for her number. Two weeks later, we went on our first real date. Ice skating. I confidently challenged her to a race across the rink, fully convinced I would win. She beat me. Fair and square. In a way though, I was the one who won that night. Now when we look back, we laugh about how young, carefree, and a little ridiculous we were. Caught up in the lights, the music, and the moment. What felt random at the time turned out to be the beginning of everything.
