we're so excited

Johnny was shaking drinks for Maggie at a downtown bar and she was sure that the two of us would hit it off. She kept trying to set us up on group outings (Cinespia, Dance Yourself Clean, Hiking, Etc.) but it was to no avail. Fast forward to a year later and Carlo was out grabbing drinks with Rennie at Bar Mattachine (RIP). Rennie took note of the come hither eyes that Johnny was throwing Carlo and told him, "That bartender thinks you're cute." Carlo who is famously aloof to the advances of attractive men replied to Rennie, "It's a Friday night at a gay bar. That's how they make their tips hunty." When Johnny bought Carlo's next drink he realized that perhaps Rennie was onto something and that perhaps Johnny did, in fact, think he was cute. Carlo worked up the nerve to introduce himself to Johnny, "Hi there. Thanks for the drink! I'm Carlo." Johnny shook his hand over the bar and slowly realized how familiar that name was. "By any chance is your Instagram handle @carlocarmello?" he replied. Somewhat taken aback Carlo cautiously replied "Yeeeessss?" Johnny asked Carlo if he knew someone named Maggie. Suddenly it clicked, "Oh you're the bartender!" obviously, Johnny was a bartender. "She kept telling me about you last summer!" Two days later Johnny was sitting in the waiting room at the Sweat Spot watching Carlo and his sister wives dance to Careless Whisper by George Michael. Brunch ensued, then that same night the wood fired hearth in the kitchen of the Lodge was fired up for a pizza party and the rest is history.
