Johnny organized a hike to Mt. Monadnock during peak foliage for some leaf peeping. Johnny and Cass had previously hiked this mountain a few years prior on a date. Under the guise of a "friends & family hike" the plan was to follow the hike with dinner and drinks (tacos and margs). After reaching the summit- Johnny asked to take a picture with Cass. With everyone recording- Johnny proposed! After the initial shock and a mountaintop champagne toast with their group- Cassie asked Johnny if he had received permission from her parents. He informed her that while he hadn't, he wanted to facetime them to tell them the good news. Mildly disappointed, (but still over the moon excited) Cassie spent the rest of the hike and the ride home thinking about how she would tell her brothers and her parents. After nearing the house- it became very obvious that she did not have to consider how to tell her family- as they were already at their house! In addition to a surprise proposal- Johnny had planned, arranged and organized an additional surprise... an engagement party with some friends and family!
