John Michael organized an unforgettable New Year’s Eve for Melissa with a fully planned day that ended like a dream. As a Christmas gift, he gifted Melissa an itinerary and an outfit for a special date. The day began at The Henry, a meaningful spot where their families had met for the first time back in 2021. After lunch, they cozied up in the Christmas ambiance of Hotel Swexan and sipped cocktails by the fireplace. The surprises started when John Michael took Melissa to a butterfly garden at Texas Discovery Gardens for a private butterfly release. Inside the space, they were greeted with their butterflies and hundreds of wings fluttering around them. John Michael released his butterfly first and as Melissa prepared to release her butterfly, John Michael dropped to one knee, asking her to marry him. Overwhelmed by the moment, Melissa almost forgot to say yes! A local photographer came out from around the corner, capturing every detail of their excitement. But the celebrations didn’t stop there. After sharing the exciting news with a few loved ones, John Michael took Melissa to her parents’ home in Flower Mound, where a surprise New Year’s Eve party awaited. Surrounded by close friends and family, everyone drank espresso martinis, popped champagne, and danced the night away to Frank Sinatra, wrapping up the best day ever. While we can't wait to get married, we’re also savoring this special time of our engagement! In 2025, we're looking forward to taking a much-needed vacation, searching for a new space to live in the summer, and cheering on our friends as they get married in the fall. Rest assured, we look forward to celebrating our love with all of our friends and family eventually and will provide updates as they develop!
