The year was 2016. JD was working at a fine dining restaurant as their Wine Director. Emily walked in and sat at a table with a friend for a nice dinner. Now, JD thought he had seen just about every woman come through his restaurant in the small neighborhood of Riverside in Jacksonville, FL, but this was the first time he'd ever seen HER. Lightning struck and he turned to a friend and asked, "WHO is THAT?!" They said, "Oh, that's just Emily." As it turned out, Emily was a talented bartender at another fine dining restaurant. They moved in similar social circles, but hadn't met until this fateful night. JD took a deep breath, then sauntered over to her table at an opportune time. He asked if he could fill up her already full glass of water and said, "Hello, my name is JD." She smiled, introduced herself, and felt butterflies in her stomach immediately for this man. She thought he was extremely handsome, gracious, and just an overall good person. It wouldn't be until another year later that they finally had the opportunity to date. It felt right for both of them. They had fallen in love. Over-the-moon, head-over-heels, take-your-breath away kind of love. They were experiencing adventure, culture, and a fondness for the good life together. In 2019, JD had taken a position with a wine import company which relocated them to New York, NY. Feeling right at home in a city bursting with life and culture, their love for each other deepened. It was on a trip to Geneva in Upstate New York that they would make their love forever. On the shores of Seneca Lake, JD got down on one knee and asked if Emily would be his forever. Marry him. Her answer was a resounding ABSOLUTELY YES! The rest, as they say, is history.
