Though neither of us remembers the encounter, our story first began in 2021. At the time, the timing simply wasn’t right. In hindsight, we’re both grateful for the extra years God gave us to grow individually before officially meeting again in 2024. John had originally planned for our first date to be a boat tour along the Chicago River, but God surprised us with something even more unforgettable. Just days before that planned date, the aurora borealis unexpectedly appeared, painting the night sky with breathtaking colors neither of us had ever seen before. That evening, John came thoughtfully prepared with chairs, wine, cheese, crackers, salami, and freshly sliced strawberries. Gloria was blown away by how intentional and thoughtful he was, while John was captivated by her curiosity and genuine desire to know him more deeply. Looking back now, every detail unfolded perfectly in its own time. What once felt delayed was simply God aligning every piece of our story exactly where it needed to be. And as we continue this journey together, we know He is still faithfully writing a beautiful story for our lives.
