We're Getting married!

Our story began in the most unexpected place- at a two-year-old’s birthday party. The adorable toddler (who now proudly serves as our ring bearer!) is Johnathan’s nephew. Several years before, his sister (Miriam, the Matron of Honor) hired Katie on the Transplant Unit at UAB. Even though Miriam was hiring for a bedside nurse, she ended up finding her future Sister-In-Law! At the birthday party, Johnathan and Katie were introduced to each other and like every romantic story, they awkwardly made small talk and shared glances across the room until Johnathan left out the back door and went home. After the party, Katie shared with Miriam she thought her brother was handsome which of course Miriam replied “Ew, gross”. Thankfully for Katie, Miriam came up with a way to connect the couple again the following weekend by inviting them to the Cathedral Caverns. When the night ended, Johnathan walked Katie to her car and made his first move- Johnathan asked Katie for her number. They have been inseparable ever since and have shared many memories and milestones. Together they have traveled (Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, South Carolina), bought their first home, adopted their first puppy and will walk down the aisle this February!
