When I first met Latoya, she had this big, giggly, fun and loving attitude. She was very fun to be around. She had a great big smile that lit up the room. A few of us from the church, decided to go to the mountains on memorial day weekend. Latoya and I got to talk to each other while walking down the mountain we just hiked up. I told her my story and she did not judge me or waver in any way about my past. I thought to myself, a girl like that must have a huge heart. During that time in N.C. we ended up dancing together, sitting next to each other and just spending more time with one another. What most people don’t know is we kissed the last night there. We felt unseperatable and it was a great feeling. We have been together ever since. And I love her so much!
I knew I wanted to ask her to marry me, but since we’ve only been together for less than a year, I knew it might of not been the right time. Never the less, I planned the whole idea out. I ordered everything I needed, bought the ring and started my plan. That day Latoya came over my house after church. She was not a happy person. She even apologized to me that day for being mean to me. But for me it was perfect! I would catch her off guard! I told her to come over after babysitting and we would cook dinner togther. So I put out the rose pedals, candels, streamers of hearts hanging from the ceiling, a bucket full of capri suns and her favorite song on instrumental. She came inside not thinking about anything and I said, I asked your brothers, I asked your sisters, I asked your mother, and the only person I have left is to ask you, will you marry me. She said yes and its been the best day of my life since I can remember.
