We're Getting Married!

Our Love Story It all started on a bus in high school, though I didn’t know it at the time. John noticed me, but I never even saw him there. A simple glance, a passing moment, yet something in him had been sparked. It wasn't until later, when he followed and re-followed me on Instagram, that I first began to take notice. At first, I didn't follow him back. But he kept trying, and eventually, curiosity got the better of me. I hit that follow button, and that’s where everything started to shift. A few months after that, he posted one of those "To Be Honest" posts on Instagram. I liked it—just a small action, but it was the start of something big. That small gesture led to us meeting up at a local fair, where I didn’t even tell my parents I was meeting a boy for the first time. That fair was where John officially asked me to be his girlfriend. And in that moment, our paths intertwined forever. What followed wasn’t always easy. We faced the ups and downs of teenage love—awkward moments, silly misunderstandings, but also those quiet moments that made us feel like we were the only two people in the world. Then came the challenge of long distance when we both went off to college. But even when the miles stretched between us, we still felt close. Our bond was stronger than any distance. We went through the heartaches of loss together, too, feeling grief in ways that only those who have shared it deeply could understand. But we grew, and it was during those moments of intense vulnerability that we discovered the true depth of our love. We shared all the milestones: first days of school, prom nights, two graduations each, and the excitement of beginning our careers. And when it came time to build a future, we started building a home together, brick by brick, with a vision of what could be. We’ve traveled the world, seen new places, and created memories in far-off corners of the globe. Each journey brought us closer, and in November of 2024, in the serene beauty of Hawaii, John asked me the question I had known was coming all along: “Will you marry me?” And without a second thought, the answer was the easiest yes I’ve ever given. Our life isn’t perfect. There are days of uncertainty, moments of frustration, and all the normal stuff that comes with navigating life. But through it all, we’ve always had each other. No matter what the future holds, one thing is for sure—we will continue to experience it all, side by side.
