John and Sarah met in the Fall of their freshman year at Loyola University Maryland. They wouldn't exactly say it was love at first sight (at least on Sarah's end). Over the next few years their paths did not cross much...until senior year. In the fall of 2019, their friendship started to grow and they began to spend more time together. After an entertaining Friendsgiving, John finally decided to ask Sarah on a date and she said yes!
John told Sarah to prepare for an adventure. Sarah was informed she would be gone all day. She was not sure what was really happening, but she prepped a few outfits. The adventure started where their story began, at Loyola. As they walked through campus, they reminisced on how they first met through mutual friends and history class with "crazy Jane" (Sarah's least favorite but John's favorite professor). Next, they stopped for lunch at Belvedere Square, where they had their first date! Just like the first date, they had pizza! Unlike the first date, Sarah ate more than one slice. They then drove to some of their favorite spots in Baltimore, including Druid Hill Park, the Homeland neighborhood, and their current neighborhood, Federal Hill. As they sat overlooking the city, they reminisced about their time spent in Baltimore. Finally, they drove to the Potomac River and started a hike at the Great Falls! John decided he wanted to take pictures but rejected several spots. When they finally found a spot, John suddenly said he got "bit by a bug". After Sarah turned to look in the direction of where the bug flew, she turned around to find him on his knee! An excited "yes" was followed by cheers from hikers from the Virginia and Maryland sides of the Potomac. Surprisingly, the adventure wasn't done! Sarah and John headed to Old Town, Alexandria to find their parents waiting to celebrate with them! After a whole day of adventures, the true adventure was just beginning!
