Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Rita Zwiefel and John Macdonald
We're so excited to welcome you to the Tampa Bay area! Here are a few of our favorite spots around St. Pete if you have some time to explore ☀️

Sunken Gardens

1825 4th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33704

One of the oldest roadside tourist attractions in the United States! It's a beautiful botanical garden with a flock of flamingos.

Fort Desoto

St. Petersburg, FL 33715

Great beach for adventuring! Note that it is a state park and you will have to pay for entry - worth it!

Pass-a-Grille Beach

St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

It's a little out of the way, but this is our favorite beach. We always park at the south end near the pier!

Vinoy Park

701 Bayshore Drive Northeast, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Our favorite waterfront walk! If you're lucky, you might spy a dolphin along the seawall.

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

1101 Country Club Way South, St. Petersburg, FL 33705

The Dalí Museum

1 Dali Boulevard, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art

St Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

559 Mirror Lake Drive North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

We met here many moons ago during their annual fundraiser called Tweed Ride. It's the world's largest shuffleboard facility!

Lassing Park

2042 Beach Drive Southeast, St. Petersburg, FL 33705

A gorgeous waterfront park. We spent a lot of time here during quarantine, reading in the sun - even just a drive by is worth it!

Thrill Hill

333 16th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

You gotta do it for the bit.

Wendy's Closet on Central

1912 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33713

A GREAT thrift store both John & Rita love - you're guaranteed to find something fun!

Revolve Clothing Exchange

2000 4th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33704

Another great thrift store!

Bandit Coffee Co.

2662 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33712

Rita's favorite coffee shop! She worked here for a few months during grad school ◡̈ They serve a full breakfast and lunch menu during the day, and you can catch Small Bar (a sneaky little wine bar) on the weekends.

Cafe Clementine

255 Beach Drive Northeast, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

A wonderful bakery with croissants and other delicious treats located inside the Museum of Fine Arts!

Stella's

2914 Beach Boulevard South, Gulfport, FL 33707

This is our pick for a casual brunch or lunch. Be sure to walk around downtown Gulfport - there are a bunch of cute shops + places to eat and drink!

Pete's Bagels

2361 1st Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33712

Wild Child

2710 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33712

Our rec for a great dinner - we've spent many a date night here!

It's next to Taphouse - a good spot to get a greasy sandwich. Their fries are great too!

A divey sports bar - we come here to watch Lightning games during the season!

in between days

2340 1st Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33712

A cutie little sake bar inside an old St. Pete bungalow!

Ruby's Elixir

15 3rd Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Great spot for live music. Smoking inside, you'll have to wash your hair after spending an evening here.

Bar Mezzo

1049 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33705

Grand Central Brewhouse

2340 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33712

Mazzaro's Italian Market

Iconic Italian market in St. Pete. They are closed Sundays, but try to check them out if you can! They have an incredible deli with delish sandwiches.

El Cap Restaurant

Rita's old apartment was by this St. Pete icon - solid burger spot with cheap beer and lots of Tampa Bay sports memorabilia.

Ted Peter's Famous Smoked Fish

Another St. Pete icon.

Publix Super Market at 700 Central

725 1st Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

If you've never had a Pub sub... you have to do it. Get the chicken tenders!

Bodega on Central

1180 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33705

Another St. Pete icon - with a sneaky little speakeasy in the back! Get the pollo plato or the Cuban (hold the pickles) if you want to copy our usual order.

Tombolo Books

2153 1st Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33712

One of Rita's favorite bookstores in St. Pete! We took our engagement pics in their courtyard + inside the shop ◡̈

Book + Bottle

17 6th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

It's a wine store with books, or a bookstore with wine - and coffee too!

For all the days along the way
