We're getting married!

So, when we think about it, our mothers orchestrated this whole thing. When he was 16, John's mother, Kathryn, saw an ad for Bard High School Early College in the newspaper and suggested he take a look. He was accepted to their first graduating class (along with Andrew Stephens), and proceeded to become that critical-thinking liberal we all know and love. Two years later, he transferred to Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Meanwhile in Manhattan, Riley's mother, Jane, heard such good things about Bard College that she drove Riley up there to tour the school on early decision day. They filled out an application, had an interview and she got accepted on the very same day. Early in John and Riley's first year in Annandale, John stumbled into the hallway of his dorm to find Riley getting ready for Bard's Annual Drag Race Party. And so it began...

Although they picked out the ring together (with the help of Andrew Stephens), John still found a way to surprise Riley by proposing on a moving monorail in the Bronx Zoo's safari exhibit. Even though the monorail sails through metaphorical regions of the world, John thought it was the perfect place start their new chapter of adventures around the world together. She of course said "Yes!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in September!
