The Proposal
On May 10th, 2024, John and I planned to meet at his home after work. We were going to the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Expo '74. When I arrived at John's house, there was a note on his door. It was an invitation to a scavenger hunt to find John. All of the ten clues were distributed around his house. The clues involved souvenirs from fun events and activities we experienced together, such as our first Star Wars Lego set and the blanket we bought at Aladdin the Musical in Seattle. The last clue was about the place where we went on our third date and where our love bloomed. This was the Japanese Gardens in Manito Park. Once we arrived at the gardens and chatted about our day, John got down on one knee and proposed. I said, "Yes!" John had a personalized box made for my ring. On the inside lid it said
"Becky I love you".
In Riverfont Park, we attending the Expo celebration and rode on the gondolas.
We could not stop smiling at each other. I'm truly blessed to have John in my life.
