Maid of Honor
Brittany and I met when we were 11 years old at St. Monica's Prep School in Trinidad. When I first met Brittany in class, I would pass her notes asking if she wanted to be my friend. Needless to say, we had a rough start, but we soon became inseparable. Brittany and I have been on many family trips together and she has always been and will always be my sister. She and I are usually the life of the party and I could not imagine this day without her. Brittany lives in Trinidad and we have been long distance best friends for twelve years!
Best Man
James is my older brother by about 4 years. He currently lives in Houston and works for Baker Hughes. James used to always say that despite the fact that I was taller than him, he would always be stronger. While I like to think I have surpassed him on both fronts, I have always looked up to James for his maturity and wisdom. I am grateful to James as I would not have attended Baylor and met Raquel if he hadn't gone there first. He is the best brother I could ask for and I feel very fortunate to have him stand beside me as my best man.
Bridesmaid
Meggie (as I have called her for as long as I can remember) was my first best friend and is my cousin, although she feels like a sister. We grew up going to school, and dancing together. When we were very young we got into trouble from time to time. For example, I remember convincing Meagan that it was a good idea that I cut her hair while we were at a family friend's dinner party. Needless to say, we have a lot of great memories. I can always turn to Meagan for advice, and to help me when I am feeling overwhelmed. Her constant love and support mean so much to me. Meagan will be finishing up her degree in Physics from the University of Bristol this summer. I am so grateful that she is coming all the way to Texas to stand by me on my wedding day.
Groomsman
I met Ron in 2nd grade, when he was seated next to me after he ambitiously decided to skip 1st grade. Unsurprisingly, Ron is about to finish up law school at the University of Pennsylvania, and will be working in New York after graduating. We have remained close since high school, despite attending college in different states. Ron is hilarious and clever and I know we will always be best friends.
Bridesmaid
Bri and I met through Baylor Dance Company at Baylor University. Throughout my junior and senior year Bri and I were always together. Whether we were going to dance practice, watching movies together, or doing some late-night cramming before a test, we were inseparable. Bri is kindhearted, loyal, and beautiful on the inside and out. Bri currently lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas. I am so honored to have her stand by me as I marry the man of my dreams.
Groomsman
I have been best friends with Alex since kindergarten. Alex graduated from the Air Force Academy in Colorado and he is currently working in New Jersey as part of his service commitment. Alex is one of my best friends because he is very intentional and always listens. I'm very grateful for his loyalty and friendship.
Bridesmaid
Amanda and I met at Baylor University during my junior year. We both studied economics and statistics and it seemed as though we were in almost every class together. Amanda is the kind of person you always want to be around. She is kind, self-less, and extremely supportive. I was lucky enough to have her work with me at Qualtrics for a few months. She is Norah's (my dog's) BEST friend. Her friendship during and after college has been such a blessing to me. I could not imagine this day without her by my side.
Honorary Groomsman
Curtis and I met at Baylor University in our freshman dorm. His room was right down the hall but we may as well have been roommates. His energy and laugh were infectious, and he was the type of person you always wanted to be around. We quickly became best friends, as we also shared a common Hoosier heritage - Curtis grew up in Lafayette, Indiana. I wish he was here to see Raquel and I get married. I decided to include him as a groomsmen to honor what he meant to me and how much I loved him.
Bridesmaid
Kenzie and I met at the Ballet Center of Houston. Our ballet instructor introduced us to each other during Kenzie's first day at BCH. She had come from the Houston Ballet (which is a big deal), and we were the tallest ones in class. We soon hit it off. Kenzie has the kindest heart. I have always admired her love for the Lord. She loves others so well and has loved me for the past eight years. Kenzie is graduating from Texas A&M in May (Whoop!) and will be joining her fiancé in San Antonio shortly after. I could not imagine getting married without her by my side.
Groomsman
Luke and I have known each other since we were kids, as we both grew up in Avon, Indiana a few minutes apart. Despite attending different schools, our relationship strengthened in high school as we realized we had mutual affinities for basketball, halo 3, and general hooligan activity. Luke currently attends Marian University's Osteopathic Medical School in Indianapolis. Luke is like a brother to me, and I have always valued his authenticity.
Bridesmaid
Cara and I met at Baylor University through our job at Baylor ITS. We did not like each other at first... but we soon realized that we were a dynamic duo! Cara is someone who I can relax and be silly with. She brings out the carefree side of my personality and is such a loyal friend. Cara currently lives and works in Dallas, Texas. I am so grateful for her love and friendship.
Groomsman
Tyler and I met at Baylor University, packed into a 700-person all freshman-male dormitory. While many things that occurred in those halls can (and should) be forgotten, Tyler's friendship is valuable to me and he is the best friend I have from college. He studied biology in college, and currently lives in Waco, where he works for Allergan. He is always a great guy to be around and my group of groomsmen would not be complete without him.
