Our story is, like many great ones, unique and has many twists & turns. We both attended the University of Texas where we inadvertently and unknowingly crossed paths on multiple occasions - a New Years Eve dinner sitting at opposite ends of the table or multiple parties where we were never formally introduced or met. Immediately following college Nikki moved to Dallas to pursue her master’s degree in business and data analytics before joining Accenture as a management consultant. John remained in Austin producing live events that kept him on the road for up to 40 days in a row at any given time. Our relationship did not truly begin until a global pandemic brought us together again in Austin in 2020. John had recently decided to leave the music & event industry to pursue his MBA at UT, and Nikki’s travel heavy job was now mandating that their workforce work remotely, meaning Austin for Nikki. Upon reconnecting in early 2020 as many modern romances do, via a dating app, our relationship grew on the trails & roads of Austin walking with Stevie, the sheepdog. We spent hours together every week walking and getting to know one another where we bonded over our shared beliefs, interests, and desires. We both believe that dating during Covid was a relationship accelerator given the previously impossible amounts of free time we were granted. After a year we made the monumental decision to move in together and never looked back. We decided to begin the next stages of our life together through this lifelong commitment just before 2022. John “hijacked” Nikki’s plans for a nice afternoon hike by proposing at the end of the trail while discussing goals and adventure plans for the new year. It was at this moment that John and Nikki decided to set off on a new and lifelong adventure – together. We are incredibly grateful for our loving parents, John & Amy Chronis and Dan & Becky Carter, and their parents who came before them. Our parents and grandparents were massive influences on each of our lives and helped to instill strong values and principles within us. We are also equally as grateful to our siblings, family, and friends who have shaped us throughout our lives. We are excited to begin this next chapter, and every chapter thereafter, together and with those we love most around us. -John and Nikki
