Every summer for the Fourth of July (since 2012), John and Natalie would spend the holiday in Grand Lake. Natalie's parents' house happened to be next door to the house where John was staying, and for years, the two made eyes at each other from across the fence. The summer before Natalie left for college, John formally introduced himself, mentioning, "Oh yeah I think I've seen you around!" (so nonchalant). As the weekend went on, they each realized that they had met "the one"; the word soulmate had a whole new meaning. John decided in his own mind that it would never work with Natalie going to TCU when he was at the Air Force Academy; he decided it was best to COMPLETELY IGNORE HER (I'm serious y'all, Natalie was devastated). After a couple years of finding themselves, John decided it was time that he was ready to chase Natalie. If you know John you know that he is very subtle and unassertive (NOT!)... He pursued Natalie and reminded her that chivalry is not dead, real gentlemen do exist. Once he convinced her to meet him for dinner her Junior year of college, it was as if no time had passed- the Fourth of July fireworks between the two were as bright as ever. You can probably guess how the story ends!
