Our Story (From John's Perspective)

Meredith and I met five years ago at the University of Virginia. At the time, I was an immature kid who didn’t know the first thing about girls, dating, or frankly, any independent adulting skills. Five years later, I’m still an immature kid who doesn’t know much about girls, dating, or adulting. But luckily, I’ve got Meredith. She’s mature, caring, responsible, and truly selfless. I lean on her for the little things, like figuring out how to cram an entire month’s wardrobe into a duffel bag for a week-long trip, or whether pasta sauce and meatballs are actually supposed to cook in the same pan and at what temperature and for how long, and AHHH!!! The broccoli’s burning now. But I also lean on her for the important things: uncertainties about the future, struggles with friends and family, and deep conversations about faith. Honestly, I don’t know what my life would’ve looked like these last five years without her. But what I do know is that with Meredith, I have a partner who will support me no matter what. And she has a partner that will do the same for her. Through every Steelers playoff loss and every Virginia basketball win, every hangry temper tantrum and every romantic Italian date night, every birthday and every funeral, every smile and every tear. Forever.
