We were set up by mutual friends, Liz Sergeev & Jordan Kelley. John knew about this crafty setup, but Mary Catherine was blindsided. You could say that John took advantage of the fact that she had just moved to Las Vegas from NYC and didn't know anyone in town.

John asked Mary Catherine to go on a hike at Red Rock, his favorite place to soak up sun, but MC didn't realize it was a date so she invited a few friends... After John demonstrated his grizzly manliness on the trails (and even rescued a dog that got stuck), she committed to a proper dinner date later that week.

John took MC to dinner at Nacho Daddy in Downtown Las Vegas and then to Gold Spike for some games. John lost in a tense game of pool but still had enough charm to kiss MC and the rest is history!
