Regardless of route you will likely need to pass through Innsbruck where the direct rail route is Innsbruck to Jenbach, Jenbach via the Zillertalbahn to the village closest to your hotel of choosing, some recommendations have been provided under the travel tab. Prior to this the answer is dependent upon your schedule. For guests with a limited schedule (1 week or less): Via Innsbruck Airport (INN): You can take a flight with a layover to Innsbruck Airport, which is the closest to the venue. From Innsbruck, it’s about a 1-hour drive or train ride to Aschau im Zillertal. You can either rent a car at the airport or take a direct train from Innsbruck to Aschau for a scenic journey through the Alps. Via Munich Airport (MUC): Munich Airport is another option if flights to Innsbruck aren’t convenient. From Munich, it's approximately a 2-hour drive to the venue, or you can take a train to Aschau im Zillertal. Trains run frequently from Munich to Jenbach, where you can switch to a regional train toward Aschau. For guests with more time to explore (2+ weeks): Via Vienna (VIE): If you're planning a longer trip, we recommend flying into Vienna and spending 3-4 days exploring Austria's capital. Vienna offers stunning architecture, museums, and cultural landmarks. After your stay, you can take a train or drive to Aschau im Zillertal. The drive is about 5 hours, or you can take a scenic train journey that takes roughly 5.5 hours, offering beautiful views along the way. Via Zurich (ZRH): Zurich is another great entry point for a longer trip. Spend a few days enjoying Switzerland’s rich history, museums, and its beautiful old town. Afterward, the journey to Aschau is a picturesque 3.5-hour drive or a 4-hour train ride through the Alps. Both routes offer a chance to experience the breathtaking scenery between Switzerland and Austria.
Bringing an enormous amount of baggage is highly advised against. Cobblestone streets, gravel pathways, and stairs can make trying to manage a large number of bags a huge headache especially if you are intending to utilize the train system which is on a schedule. It is highly recommended however that you bring 1-2 warm outfits as a chill can occasionally settle in the valley even during the end of July especially on the mountain tops.
