Madi had just started going to a new CrossFit gym (thanks to her friend Alyssa) and noticed a guy wearing a Florida Gators sweatshirt during class one day. Madi went up to John and said, "Go Gators!" He looked at her like she was crazy. Then, Madi added, "you're wearing a Florida Gators sweatshirt ..." John responded saying, "Oh, my buddy got it for me." Madi awkwardly laughed and walked away. A few weeks later, Madi and John were put on a team for a CrossFit competition. Madi "slid into John's Instagram DMs" after she found out, gave him a hard time about being a fake Gators fan and that was the beginning of their love story. They started dating February 19, 2021. John proposed to Madi the day that the Florida Gators won the SEC Men's Basketball Championship after watching the game with her family who came into town from Florida. A few weeks later, they celebrated the Gators winning the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship with Madi's mom and their friends. Needless to say, John is all in on the Florida Gators now.
