In 2019, John and Alyssa met through their best friends, Nicole (the Maid of Honor) and her now-husband, Bryan. While Nicole and Bryan were convinced they would be a perfect match, Alyssa wasn’t so sure. John, however, wasn’t easily discouraged and spent the next few months charming his way into her life. Finally, on February 13, 2020, John worked up the courage to send Alyssa a Snapchat asking her to a Valentine’s Day paint-and-sip date. They had an amazing time—and John tried homemade wine for the very first time, deciding he wouldn’t mind becoming an honorary secondhand Italian. Not long after, the world shut down. Alyssa was hesitant to jump into a relationship, worried that if things didn’t work out, future gatherings with Nicole and Bryan might get a little awkward. But John quietly proved himself, showing up with chicken noodle soup and pizza when Alyssa and her family got sick during COVID. Ironically, it wasn’t until John had decided to stop pursuing a serious relationship—without Alyssa knowing—that Alyssa realized she didn’t want to let him go. After Black Friday 2020, everything fell into place, and the rest is history. Now, after years of laughter, love, and unwavering support, they’re so excited to celebrate the next chapter of their story with all of the people they love most.
