The Raleigh Room Stop by to see the historic hotel, grab a drink at the bar, and enjoy the beautiful views from the lawn. The Hunt Room Cozy atmosphere with great food and drinks. One of John and my favorite spots for an after-dinner drink! Becca A beautiful, garden-inspired restaurant on the property and a great spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

Tulu Seaside Bar & Grill A fun, casual oceanfront spot perfect for lunch, a quick bite, or a drink with a view. The Beach Club If you’re staying on the Cavalier or Marriott property, be sure to take advantage of the Beach Club! Relax by the pool, grab a drink, and enjoy a little time by the ocean.

Virginia Beach’s newly developed surf park, where surfers from all over come to experience the waves! Even if you’re not surfing, it’s a fun area to walk around, grab a drink, and check out some of the restaurants surrounding the park, like Nami Nori for high-end sushi, Wiseguy Pizza for a casual bite, and The Hampton Social for fun cocktails and food.
The boardwalk is perfect for a long walk or bike ride along the ocean. Head south toward 1st Street for a livelier atmosphere, or make your way north toward 89th Street for a quieter, more local feel. 46th Street is especially meaningful to us - Libby spent every summer growing up there, and it remains a very special place for the entire King family.
If you’re staying at one of the Future Gardners’ recommended hotels, you’ll have plenty of our favorite spots within walking distance! Start your morning at The Green Cat for smoothies, açaí bowls, and a yummy, healthy breakfast, or head to Nick’s, an all-time John Gardner favorite and classic hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot. For lunch, Pelon’s Baja Grill is a great casual Mexican spot with delicious margaritas, while TASTE is a Virginia Beach original known for its sandwiches. Murphy’s Irish Pub is another classic Virginia Beach favorite and always a fun stop for a drink. If you’re looking for dinner close by, Sushi Vice and Love Song are both fun spots for a night out. If you have a little time to shop, pop into Lemon Cabana, one of our favorite local stores for cute gifts!
