We met at a bar called Survivor's. I had been there for a few hours with some friends when John walked in. John told me that the second he walked in and saw me he knew he had to talk to me because my outfit immediately caught his attention. I was wearing a short, red plaid skirt, black corset top, fishnet gloves, and knee-high black boots, with little red plaid bow clips in my hair. John sent his friend, Carrie, over to talk to me so he didn't scare me away (his words). When she approached me she said her friend was interested in me and pointed down the bar where I could only see John's other friend, Emily. I though Carrie was telling me that Emily wanted to meet me. lol She finally called John over and we talked for a while. I was very nervous. I thought he was super cute! (He's still super cute.) It took a month for me to trust him enough to give him my phone number, even though we met at Survivor's every weekend. I think I finally did after I got home from our first official date at the Johnny Carino's that used to be near Fayette Mall. The night we officially became a couple I had planned a secret cookout with John's friends and afterward we went to a backyard party. To get to it we had to jump a concrete barrier wall from the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot and walk through an overgrown passageway into the yard so we called it "Narnia." They had a DJ or live band, (I can't remember which,) with a campfire, a massive wind chime made out of an antique dismantled metal bed frame, and all the jello shots you could ever want. This was the first time we ever said "I love you" to each other. The next morning we tried to go to Joseph Beth but they were closed because it was a Sunday, so we took our first photo as a couple out front under the rotunda. It hangs on our wall to this day!
