FAQs

Question

There are several hotel options, which one should I choose?

Answer

We wanted to give several hotel options as many guests will be traveling from out of town. For those who have never been to New Orleans or have some time to explore the city, we recommend staying at the New Orleans hotel (International House Hotel). For those who are on a tighter budget or timeline, the Slidell hotel (TownePlace Suites) is an excellent option! And the wedding venue (Bayou Haven) does have a few rooms as they are a small Bed & Breakfast, so if that's more your style, please book early, as those are likely to get booked quickly!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Due to space limitations with the venue and the proximity to the bayou and alligators, this is an adults-only event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

The attire is Dressy Casual or Festive. Keep in mind there's a bit of outdoor walking in the grass, so for you ladies, if you want to do wedges or flats, something less likely to sink in the ground, please do! If you have any questions about the attire, please visit this website for clarification: http://www.brides.com/story/wedding-dress-code-explained

Question

What is the "Explore New Orleans - Hosted by Johnny and Lauren" on Friday March 16th? Am I obligated to attend? How does that work?

Answer

As so many guests will be traveling from out of town, and many have never been to New Orleans, we wanted to set up an itinerary of things to do for those who are coming in early and looking for recommendations. The bride and groom will be following the schedule before we have to head off to the rehearsal, so it's just an opportunity for us to get to spend more time with the ones we love while also enjoying a fabulous city! No one is required to attend, and the day is very flexible, you can show up for any/all events you are most interested in. But if you are planning to fly in early and would rather do your own thing, that's perfectly fine as well. Be sure to check out our "Things To Do" page for more recommendations!

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

We decided to make our RSVP online only. So please head to the tab labelled "RSVP" and just enter your name and the names of any family members/guests who have been invited and click 'attending' or 'not attending'.
