Kristen and I first met when we were 18-year-olds at a Kent State University . It was like an early 2000 teen movie my sisters used to watch on DVD when I was younger. We caught each other’s eye across a packed backyard party, and we never really looked away. Believe it or not – Kristen and I are both inherently shy. So, it was interesting to see who would build up the courage first, surprisingly it was Kristen who made the first move. And let’s just say our first conversation left a mark. I still remember what she was wearing that day — but more importantly, I remember how she made me feel. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Kristen’s big eyes, her radiant smile, and perfectly placed dimples had me weak at the knees. But it wasn’t just how she looked. She was effortlessly funny, the kind of funny that sneaks up on you and keeps you smiling. After that night, I knew she was the one. All I could think about was how much I wanted to see her again. Over the next four years we had so many amazing adventures. The fiery girl I met at a college party —effortlessly—became my best friend and the love of my life. After graduation we moved to Cleveland to chase our careers, got our dog Liam Henry, and cheered each other on through grad school and every twist life threw at us. Along the way, we filled our days with endless conversations, belly laughs, too much Italian takeout, and quiet movie nights in. Together, we’ve built a life we love. And now, as we look to the future, we’re beyond excited to tie the knot, call Cleveland home once again, and start the next chapter—this time, as a family. Because, it’s always been you.
