Question

What are the COVID-19 Restrictions?

Answer

Based on the honor system, wedding guests ages 5 and up must be either fully vaccinated or obtain two negative COVID tests to attend. Option 1: Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, boosters strongly preferred or Option 2: Take a PCR COVID test under medical supervision within 72 hours of the event AND take a rapid antigen COVID test on June 11th, 2022 - both results must be negative.

Question

What is the definition of fully vaccinated?

Answer

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a fully vaccinated individual as a person who has received the full series of the COVID-19 vaccine. This means it has been at least two weeks since you have received two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Question

What kind of COVID-19 test is required and where can I get them?

Answer

To attend the wedding we require all non-fully vaccinated guests to take a PCR test within 72 hours of the event under medical supervision AND take a rapid antigen test the day of the event, with negative results for both. PCR tests are "polymerase chain reaction" tests and detect the DNA sequence of the virus in the body. You can get one of these tests by making an appointment at most major pharmacies including Walgreens & CVS as well as at most major airports - make sure to request a PCR test specifically. These tests are very accurate, but require multiple days to process in a laboratory. Please plan accordingly to get your test results on time as no exceptions will be made due to laboratory delays. Rapid antigen tests measure active virus in the body, but are not as sensitive as PCR tests. Results from these tests can be obtained in less than one hour from a do-it-yourself kit. When in stock, you can get them over the counter from pharmacies and stores including Walgreens & CVS.
