We were both attending Suffolk University and living in Boston in 2010. A mutual friend introduced us as we were leaving to visit another friend at a nearby college. Krislyn was more interested in getting to the party than meeting a group of new people so as everyone was making small talk Krislyn was kicking around the trash on a Boston sidewalk (gross). She stumbled upon a scratch ticket and for whatever reason decided to "make sure it wasn't a winner" to her surprise it was indeed a $4 dollar winner. John instantly said "I'm going with you to cash that in and get another ticket".... we kept winning ticket after ticket for weeks, and little did Krislyn know she was winning a lot more than a lottery ticket. We've been inseparable ever since.
