We met online in June 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, when the world was on pause and everything felt uncertain. What started as simple conversations quickly became something we looked forward to every day. The dating app we were using had a free one-minute video call feature, and because neither of us wanted to pay for the full version, we made the most of it by scheduling our daily one-minute calls like clockwork. Sixty seconds at a time, every day, we built something real. Before we ever met in person, we spent hours together with a FaceTime date that unexpectedly lasted three hours. Time flew by and made us even more excited for what was coming next. Our first in-person date came with a bit of creativity (and a little white lie). Kevin needed “help” assembling his couch, claiming that it was a “two-person” job (it really wasn’t). But it worked! The couch got built, The Mandalorian got watched, and what began as a practical excuse turned into the start of many cozy nights together. Over the past five years, we’ve shared a love for board games, Star Trek marathons, LEGO builds, baking experiments, and exploring new places together. We’ve taken a cross-country road trip, traveled to Spain, visited the Philippines, and made countless memories along the way. From one-minute calls to lifelong plans, our story has been full of laughter, adventure, and love and we can’t wait to for the next chapter!
