FAQs

Question

Where is this being held?

Answer

This wedding will be held at our home- 623 New Paltz Road, Highland, NY. We have about an acre and a half of land to enjoy and we thought it would be special to hold this event at our home. The ceremony will take place in the way back of the yard, so please process down that way upon arriving. The cocktail hour will take place in the middle of the yard, and the reception, dinner and dancing will take place near the home in the front yard.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress fashionably to your comfort level. This is an outdoor wedding in August taking place at our home, so be prepared to keep cool during the day but keep the chill off as the night wears on. We want everyone to dress glamorously to whatever extent feels feasible and happy.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, just please let us know within your RSVP so that we can prepare appropriately.

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

Close, ideal parking is somewhat limited. We ask that you do not park in our driveway (save dropping someone with mobility issues off) or on New Paltz Road (busy road with no shoulder). You may park on Toll Gate Road, Roxanne Blvd, Kisor Ln, Dirk's Terrace, or at the Joyful Moments Daycare. We encourage carpooling for this reason!

Question

What is the meal situation?

Answer

There will be snacks and a yummy spread at our cocktail hour at 4:30. Dinner will be served family style and will consist of a cherry braised short rib, garlic mashed potatoes, summer vegetables, and a house salad. If you cannot eat red meat, we can make a substitution as needed. If you are vegetarian, vegan, or have another allergy or dietary restriction, please indicate as such in your RSVP so that we can accommodate and plan appropriately. It’s all going to be delicious!

Question

Where will the bathrooms be located?

Answer

We have rented a ten-stall bathroom trailer for convenience and comfort. It will be centrally located on the driveway and accessible to all guests.

Question

Should I bring my bathing suit & towel?

Answer

We have a pool and there will be a lifeguard on duty. Please feel free to swim as long as you pee in the restrooms (or at the very least, bushes) and not in our pool!

Question

Am I allowed to camp in your backyard?

Answer

Yes! Let us know if you plan to do this. We want everyone to have a great time and be safe. If this sounds like fun to you, get ahold of us and we will set up the logistics with you.

Question

Will there be an indoor space at this event?

Answer

We will have tents set up and the garage for live music, but the catering teams and bridal party will be using our indoor space. Please refrain from entering the home during the event!

Question

Why don't you have a registry set up?

Answer

We don't have need of much. We know that we are late on making this wedding happen, but having you all gathered was really important to us, and we are proud to finally hold this sacred event. While any gift from the heart is welcome, we do not have a list of things we need or want. We can't wait to see you!

Question

What's going on the following day (Sunday, August 30)?

Answer

Anyone who is around down is invited to have a chill BBQ at the house. Feel free to bring a side dish, an instrument, a lawn game, or just bring yourself. We would love to continue to positive energy through a day of relaxation. We are encouraging an open jam, so please let us know if you'd like to play a song or be a part of an open jam. We will have some gear but instruments are welcome.

Question

What does DIY mean?

Answer

DIY means Do it Yourself. We love the DIY ethos in general and making this happen in our own unique and detailed way is important to us. Independent facilitation takes some extra forethought, which is why your detailed responses regarding meals and drinks make a huge difference in the success of this event. We want all of our friends and loved ones to be safe and have a blast.
