A casual Saturday... John headed to Drift to have a few cocktails with the boys after dinner. I was off to Drift to wingman a friend of mine. I approached the bar, and he approached me. Nine months later, Lenore was born. JUST KIDDING...back to Drift... We got to talking and laughing right away. It was effortless. We covered a million topics, including yoga, favorite spots in town, hobbies, and even the infamous Emu. We continued on, giggling and sending flirty texts... It slowly felt like it was just the two of us in the bar that night. I left Drift thinking, "I had the best time with him... I don't know what the future holds... But I just NEED to kiss him." John left thinking, "I need to see her again. I wonder, can she REALLY be this cool?". (Spoiler Alert: She was 😉!) After meeting, life took off, but not together. John was traveling and I left town shortly after, which then lead to the holidays. We continued texting through it all, but I did begin to wonder if I'd ever get my kiss. Nearly a month after meeting, we FINALLY went on our first date. We started the night joking how I was late, how we were matching, and how I may or may not have had a fever, but I was NOT rescheduling! A few hours later in the booth at Postino, we realized once again, the world around us vanished (including the waitress I sent away thinking we had already ordered...twice... While John humored me, starving). We moved onto Anvil for a drink, when I finally got that first kiss. We stayed up until 4AM wishing the night would never end… not knowing at the time, this would be the first of a lifetime of late nights together. Since then, we have traveled, adopted Enki, made our house a home, welcomed our daughter into the world, and fell more in love with each other. John and I are thrilled to officially combine our worlds, celebrating our love with those we love!
