Every relationship generally starts with a moment. Movies tend to show them as a slow-motion scene where one spots the other in a crowded room and time stands still. Our moment wasn’t exactly like that. For us, the start to discovering the person you want to spend your life with, began with an argument about a bag of chips which is still unresolved to this day. Shout out to Frito Lays for bringing us together. Jordan moved to Arizona in 2019 and picked up her first hospital nursing job at Abrazo where she met her now best friend and Maid of Honor, Taryn Morger. Little did Jordan know that through Taryn, she was eventually going to meet John. That fateful meeting happened one night in 2020 at the “fine Scottsdale establishment” called Road Runner, a dive bar where it’s best to stick to bottled beer and their food options are limited to a vending machine. That is where the most intelligent argument began over what truly was the best bag of chips and led us to continue talking for the remainder of the night. Jordan still thinks classic Lays is the way to go. We became fast friends and seemed to gravitate towards each other whenever we were in a group setting. Over the next few months, John pulled all the stops in trying to woo this girl from Oklahoma and finally succeeding in getting her out on a date in April of 2021… two weeks before he moved to Sacramento. Absolutely impeccable timing. As we grew closer in the beginning of our relationship, we made a pact to never go more than two weeks without seeing each other. And by that first commitment to one another and the always stellar Frontier Airlines (sorry for stealing your points Dad! – Jordan), we made long distance into “long distance lite”. After 8 months and many round-trip flights, John moved back to Arizona in January of 2022. Fast forward to March 24th, 2023, where John popped the question in San Diego at Sunset Cliffs! Although John tried to hide the proposal as best as he could, Jordan claims she was onto him the entire time. This is a special place for both of us as we lived in San Diego for two months while Jordan was travel nursing. John truly pulled off a great surprise weekend as he had one of Jordan's best friend's Gabby hiding on top of the cliffs along with her sister who was the photographer! At that point, Jordan thought that was all the surprises for the day. However, John had one more surprise up his sleeve! When we got back to Mission Beach, both of our parents were waiting for us at a beach house to spend the engagement weekend with us! We are so excited for our wedding day and are so grateful for all the love and support from our family and friends! WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!!!
