Jevon the daughter of Jack and Barbara Robertson (50 years of marriage), grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. After high school, she ventured south to attend Southern University and A&M college in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There she graduated with a BS in Accounting. Upon graduation, she moved to Houston, Texas to begin her career as a Financial Analyst in the Oil and Gas industry. But her heart was later drawn to a higher calling; bringing people together, creating moments of joy, and celebrating life’s milestones in the Events industry. John the son of George and Rhonda Griffin (46 years of marriage) grew up in southern Georgia and journeyed to Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida where he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering. His Chemical Engineering career began in Memphis, Tennessee, and eventually led him to Houston, Texas, bringing new opportunities and new chapters in his life.
Both Jevon and John experienced life’s twists and turns, embracing each season, growing, maturing and discovering who God called them to be. They learned from love’s triumphs and its lessons, carrying with them the gifts of their children from previous unions—Jevon with her son Tobias (12), and John with his sons Jackson (12) and Carter (9). Through it all, their hearts remained open, steadfast in the hope of finding love again and building a family rooted in faith, joy, and togetherness.
John knew what he desired in a wife. His journey afforded him time to reflect and develop clarity so that he would recognize the gift that God was about to send him. She prayed that if it didn’t lead to the right connection, it would be a sign that it was not meant to be the way God planned to bring her husband. With that, she downloaded an app, and trusted that if God wanted to work through it, He could!
