What should I wear to your wedding?

Answer

We want everyone to be comfortable. Please wear dressy casual attire. Please no shorts.

Question

I'm coming from out of town, where can I stay?

Answer

We will have a rate discount on rooms at Inn at Virginia Tech which is right around the corner from Smithfield. Stay tuned, we will send out the information in July of 2024.

Question

Will there be any foods gluten or allergen free?

Answer

We are glad to find you something you can safely eat. Please let us know of any nutritional needs you may have. Or send us a recipe suggestion.

Why did you select the date that you did?

Answer

We chose June because we wanted a late spring/early summer wedding. June 4th was selected because John's parents were married on that day. So was one of his sisters. Consider that our "something borrowed".

Why is the ceremony in the morning?

Answer

After witnessing this June's heat, we've decided to try and avoid as much of that as possible. Our ceremony will start at 10am with the brunch reception to directly follow. Hopefully we'll all be able to beat the heat.

Why are you having the ceremony and reception at Smithfield Pavilion?

Answer

John is a blacksmith when he isn't working in IT. At the start of our relationship, he would spend some weekends at the Smithfield Blacksmith shop for hours. On the same bit of property is the Pavilion, which is gorgeous. So this spot has a special place in our hearts.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Answer

When do you need my RSVP by?

Answer

We will need to have all RSVPs received by May 1st so that we can nail down all the final details. Please let us know if you are only able to attend either the ceremony or reception, instead of both.

Will there be alcohol served at your wedding?

Answer

No. Our wedding will be a dry event.
