It all started at the beginning of PA school, when a group of classmates planned a day out in Philadelphia to get to know each other before classes began. Jack walked a few blocks from his apartment across Clark Park to meet Jenna, who immediately greeted him with “Hey there, John Palisades” — a joke that stuck from the very beginning. Jenna was smitten right away. That day turned into bar hopping around the city, ending at Woody’s, where somewhere between the music, lights, and dancing, Jenna decided to go for it — leading to their first kiss. From then on, their time together filled up naturally: lots of studying, becoming regulars at the Clark Park farmers market for tacos and whoopie pies on Saturday mornings, and exploring the streets of Philadelphia — a place that would become deeply woven into their story. After graduation, they moved back to Jenna’s hometown of Whitehall, PA and started their careers in medicine. Life began to look a little different outside of school, but they built a home they love — along with their cats, Binx and LK (Jack officially became a cat person), and later their dog, Maverick. Over the years, they’ve continued to share a love for travel, food, and exploring — from trips to Maui, Germany, & Barbados to spontaneous nights back in Philadelphia. On one of those trips, after a quick bite and some liquid courage, Jack suggested stopping on Broad Street. Jenna had always wanted a picture of the two of them with City Hall in the background — something Jack had quietly held onto. After asking someone to take their photo, he got down on one knee and proposed in the city where they first met. Their story hasn’t followed a straight path, but through time, perspective, and a lot of honest conversation, they found their way back to what mattered most — each other. They’re best friends, partners, and so excited for everything ahead.
