Our Story
Our freshman year at Benedictine College, I (John) tossed a frisbee over Jaida’s head, hoping to get her attention, but she simply kept walking. For years, the joke was whether she’d ever “throw the frisbee back.” As our friendship grew, I stayed persistent in my hopes for a date, showing up with flowers, friendship, and more while Jaida (with her ‘perfect plan’) kept saying no. I continued to pray and trust God would bring us together in His time. Days before graduation, Jaida finally said yes to a first date (over a shot of tequila of course :)). Our first date involved a Royal’s game and stargazing, and we both say we walked away from that night knowing we had met our future spouse. Soon began long-distance dating, a time full of drives, calls, and mini dates that only strengthened our love for each other. Now back in KC, we share everyday joys with friends, family, the SJA community, basketball, and good movies. We ask for your prayers as we begin the best adventure of our lives!
