Things To Do
Torrey Pines State Reserve
Torrey Pines has some great, short-ish hikes with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. For the best hike, we'd suggest walking out on the trails at the top of the cliffs then walking back along the water.
La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove is a beautiful area to walk and enjoy the ocean views. If you have time, we'd suggest checking out the area before the Welcome Party on Friday night!
One Paseo
One Paseo is an outdoor shopping mall close to the church (5 minutes from St. Therese) and hotels (5 minutes from the Marriott and 10 from the Hilton) that has great places to grab coffee or a bite to eat. We absolutely love Blue Bottle Coffee, Parakeet Cafe, Salt & Straw, Sidecar Donuts, and Batch & Box.
Del Mar Beach & Marina
Del Mar Beach is beautiful and a great place to go for a walk, take a dip in the Pacific, or pull up a chair at a beach bar. Fair warning - it can be tough to find parking on nice days.
La Jolla
La Jolla is a little bit of a drive from the hotels but has some amazing bars / restaurants that John and Grace love (especially Duke's La Jolla, where we'll be having the welcome party). If you have some time, we would definitely suggest heading into La Jolla for lunch, dinner, or just to grab a drink. We would recommend: El Pescador - for those who enjoy seafood, it's tough to find better fresh fish in the area. We'd suggest eating on their outdoor patio. Isola Pizza Bar - delicious Neopolitan pizza Better Buzz Coffee - great coffee, but can get very busy! We'd suggest ordering ahead
