We found each other at the perfect time. July 24th is the day I met the man of my dreams, and he made quite a good first impression. Sitting in a Target dressing room, waiting on my sister, John comes running by with two friends, holding the most insane combination of clothing apparel I've seen to this day. A few minutes pass and out comes John, in a denim capri jumpsuit, a leopard print cardigan, a woven sun hat, sunglasses, and shoes to complete the look. As much as this amazing outfit drew me in, it was his silly personality, his smile, his quick-wittedness when talking, and mostly, his lack of ability to pick up on hints (lol!), that quickly grabbed hold of my heart. That same night, after the chaos had died down, and John's crew was leaving, John still had not asked for my number. I tried to be sneaky and find a way to casually get his number, but once again, the hints went in one ear and out the other, and he walked away. Roughly 10 minutes later, his friend comes back with the line "Hey, my friend wanted your number, but he said he got shy around pretty girls." I don't think he was finished speaking before I was already answering yes, and thus starting one of the greatest chapters in my life. John is unlike any man I've ever known. From our first interaction, to the first time he texted me, to our last date night, John always makes me feel so incredibly special. I'm so grateful for that one random day in a Target, because it's brought me the best relationship I ever could've asked for. I've truly found the one whom my soul loves!
The night of January 28th was perfect. We were sitting on my roof listening to all types of music. Anyone who knows me can say say that my love language is sharing the music that speaks to your soul. We were there for hours just talking and listening to Emma's top hits. It was a beautiful night with millions of stars that were shining only for us. It was a combination of holding her in my arms and her telling me how happy she was with our life that made me realize that this was the person that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Once we went back inside, I wanted to further show her how much I loved her so I pulled her out of bed and put on a slow song and just danced. I was looking into those beautiful eyes of hers and I could see my future. After we danced, we got into bed and decided to watch The Notebook. After watching that beautifully heart wrenching movie, I realized that I would write 1,000 stories about our love and it would never be enough. Emma is the love of my life and my other half, my better half. So I got on one knee and asked her to marry me. And she said yes.
