Below, you’ll find info on flights, hotels, and transportation from the airport into town. We would highly recommend buying flight tickets at least three months in advance. You may also want to set a Google Flights or Hopper alert for flight prices.

Flight

Where to Fly

There are three airports to fly into. Check Delta, Volaris, United, AeroMexico and American first for flight deals and direct (or one-stop) options: - QRO: Queretaro International Airport, 1.25 hrs from San Miguel - BJX: Guanajuato International Airport, 1.5 hrs from San Miguel - MEX: Mexico City International Airport, 3 hrs from San Miguel

Travel Note

Shuttle to/from the Airports

Elena's family has been using BajioGo for 20+ years and they can be booked directly online. We always opt for the shared shuttle as it still drops you off directly at your house or hotel. We've also included a couple of other options that can be booked by email. Be prepared to tip about 50 pesos per person. Where to Stay

There are so many wonderful places to stay in San Miguel. There is a mix between large, brand name hotels and smaller boutiques. We've listed some of our favorites below. Another option is to rent a house (AirBnb, Vrbo, or our wonderful friend, Martha, manages homes in San Miguel and can assist). - Rosewood San Miguel de Allende $$$$ - Sierra Nevada (Belmond) $$$$ - Casa 1810 $$$ - Numu (Hyatt) $$$ - Maison Mexique $$ - Clandestino Pila Seca or Recreo $$ - Hotel Madi $$ - Casa Hoyos $$
