About 40 minutes from Bali’s mainland are the islands of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Penida. They’re beautiful and easy to visit for a day. Nusa Penida has some of the island’s most famous spots, like Kelingking Beach, Angel’s Billabong (a natural infinity pool), and snorkeling at Crystal Bay or Manta Bay.

If you’re up for an early start (3am!), the Mount Batur hike is a fun adventure. It’s not too hard, takes a couple of hours, and the sunrise views from the top of the volcano are incredible.
About 20 minutes north of Ubud, these rice terraces are gorgeous and a classic Bali photo spot.
Bali has beautiful temples all over the island. Some favorites: Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, Ulun Danu Beratan, Tirta Empul, Goa Gajah, Taman Ayun, and Tirta Gangga Water Palace.
Right in Ubud, this open sanctuary has hundreds of monkeys and winding paths through the forest. The monkeys are curious, so keep an eye on your things!
For something active, you can raft down the Ayung River through the jungle and small rapids.
