For those unfamiliar to the story, it all began on Tinder... It was Fall of 2015. Chip had just begun his first year at Emory. And John, fresh from finishing his first half marathon, decided to take a trip down to Atlanta, 'The A', to visit his sister and family. Neither one knew that their lives would soon change by a swipe to the right (although John will always remind you that Chip's was a swipe up...a 'Super Like'). Chip remembers being surprised by John's profile pic: a handsome guy with the Seattle skyline in the background; the next picture of him in a Seahawks jersey. "Could this guy be from Seattle?" John remembers the first time he saw Chip's profile pic: a cute guy swimming in a river with three Senegalese kids. Interesting. And 6 mutual friends?! (Tinder is connected to Facebook) "Who is this guy???" Chip's initial 'hey' and John's responsive 'sup' soon turned to a coffee date at Ansley Park's finest Starbucks where, spoiler alert, John would propose to Chip 6 years later. The two spent the next week together, which turned into daily FaceTime calls, which led to countless flights between SEA and ATL. Eventually they moved to New York City where they now live the big city life with their not-too-spoiled dog Bruno.
